Teach India was a TOI initiative that began with the thought of educating children from underprivileged sections of society and turned into a larger movement focused on changing lives. It was rooted in the understanding that Spoken English is a skill integral to enhance employability. The idea was to make the youth job ready through spoken English Programme, thereby bringing a change that will empower them in true sense.

It was re-launched in 2010 with a focus on the demographic dividend of the country - the youth. It was a spoken English programme that aims at skilling, facilitating and scaffolding the youth (from disadvantaged socio-economic backgrounds) in spoken English to enhance their employability. It was driven by its volunteer-teachers, who came forward to serve society with a purely altruistic motive. It also gave TOI readers an opportunity to serve the less privileged by teaching them.
