I took a decision to donate my kidney to a friend, who was unable to find a suitable donor. After all formalities, I donated my kidney in the year 2009. This attracted huge media attention for the reason that my friend was Muslim and myself a Hindu. Lots of positive media coverage. The President of India (Smt. Pratibha Patil) read this and spoke about it in a National function. This wad read by MOHAN Foundation of Chennai. They got in touch with me and invited for a conference at Chennai. There I came to know about Cadaver Organ Donations. After coming back to Nagpur, I spoke to the concerned doctors, who initiated Cadaver (Brain dead) Organ donation at Nagpur. Now Nagpur is on National grid of sending and recipes organs from all over the country. We have saved more than 750 lives so far. Thanks to MOHAN Foundation. Picture contest.
