Social media helped people from drowning in a sea

By Satvik, Gujarat | Jul 05, 2022
I experienced a fascinating story of how social media has been, infact, used for social good. And all this happened when I was visiting a beach in a town of Mangrol in Gujarat. A couple was parasailing and somehow the parachute role snapped from the speed boat carrying it. Without any support, they landed in a sea. Though they had life jackets on, they were in near drowning stage. Another person on speed boat, quickly tweeted on twitter requesting for immediate help. Within seconds, the video was viral and necessary authorities were intimated. Beach life guards came quickly in another powerboat and saved them in a nick of time. Witnessing this entire incident first hand, made me realize that Indian authorities are vigilant and we as a country are moving forward by adapting digitally to help in real life scenarios.
